Project Description:
Lloyd’s modernised and upgraded all outdated lifts within the Grade I listed 1986 building. This included the 12 wall climbing scenic lifts, three fireman’s lifts and one external goods lift. All main lift equipment was replaced including bespoke door systems, machine, control equipment, safety systems, glazing, air conditioning, signalisation and electrification.
The modernisation also included retaining the existing shaft structural elements, car structure, car panels except glazing, pit material and counterweight but refurbishing them where applicable. The lift cars were upgraded and fitted with new glazing and new car operating panels incorporating reliable standard buttons.
