Earlier this year, we launched our new and pioneering Carbon Advisory Service. We now offer our clients strategic carbon advisory services on property and infrastructure projects, as well as access to proprietary enterprise software and data integration options for the whole of life carbon assessment of developments.

We have ambitions to establish ourselves as the premier embodied carbon consultancy in the UK and we are looking for qualified Quantity Surveyors who share our ambition and passion for sustainability, to join our team.

Our team have developed industry-leading tools in the embodied carbon measurement space. This position will not only advance your career in sustainability but will also allow you to leverage your Quantity Surveying and digital expertise within a passionate, highly ambitious, and diligent team.

Prior experience providing Carbon Advisory Services would be advantageous, however, we can provide full support and training to qualified Quantity Surveyors with no prior experience in this space. We’re looking for qualified and technically strong Quantity Surveyors with exposure to full pre and post contract duties in a client facing role, who would like to utilise their skills in the new and innovative role.

Key tasks and responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor role include:

As part of our Carbon Advisory team, you will work with our clients and provide a variety of services and strategic advice in relation to their carbon targets for future and ongoing developments.

These services will include, but are not limited to:

  • Using tools to measure embodied carbon from feasibility and business case through to as-built.
  • Establish initial upfront embodied carbon impact and provide overall offset feasibility strategies and ratings guidance.
  • Benchmarking to inform scale and performance targets.
  • Engaging with design team and support major pathway design iterations.
  • Monitor against targets and benchmarks.
  • Benchmark and performance improvement strategy for capital works.
     

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • A relevant degree or masters qualification in quantity surveying or similar equivalent subject.
  • Prior experience of working in a Quantity Surveying role for a similar consultancy carrying out full pre and post contract duties.
  • Proven background in financial monitoring and adept at using digital technologies for cost management and reporting.
  • Strong client facing and stakeholder engagement skill. Particularly the ability to present detailed analysis to key stakeholders in a knowledgeable and confident manner.
  • Prior experience working on projects where formal carbon advisory services have been provided would be advantageous, however we are able to provide full training to candidates with no prior experience but have a passion for utilising their skills in this environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, particularly in the realms of sustainability and digital enablement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and estimation software like CostX; familiarity with embodied carbon measurement tools is highly advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills, capable of managing a multifaceted workload in a fast-paced, digitally-driven environment.
