Much of our processing will be carried out in order to fulfil our contractual obligations to you; in other words we need and use your personal information for providing the services you have contracted with us to provide.

However when we are communicating with you regarding to services and other industry or company you may be interested in receiving from us in the future our basis for processing is our "legitimate interest" as we are communicating with you in the context of your corporate activity and identity and not in relation to your private life. You will always be able to instantly unsubscribe from such messages using the link provided within the e-mail, or can request to unsubscribe at any time 

Information collected and its use

The website user may browse our website without providing any personal data.

We only collect your information that you freely provide to the company which is held and used for the following purposes:

i. where information is submitted by you in relation to an enquiry about our services, for the purpose of responding to your enquiry. If you subsequently appoint us to act for you, the information will be held in accordance with our data protection procedures for clients. If you do not subsequently appoint us to act for you we may retain your details for the purpose of contacting you in future about our services, or bulletins, as long as there is a legitimate interest as defined under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by the ICO. At any time you can request us not to do so by e-mailing info@riley-consulting.co.uk, or by opting out using the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of all of our email campaigns.

  1. where information is submitted by you in relation to any job application, for the purpose of assessing your application as part of the decision-making process relating to job vacancies. We will not share any of the information you provide during the recruitment process with any third parties for marketing purposes or store any of your information outside of the European Economic Area. The information you provide will be held securely by us and/or our data processors whether the information is in electronic or physical format.

We will use the contact details you provide to us to to progress your application. We will use the other information you provide to assess your suitability for the role you have applied for.

We do not collect more information than we need to fulfil our stated purposes and will not retain it for longer than necessary. The information we ask for is used to assess your suitability for employment. You don’t have to provide what we ask for but it might affect your application if you don’t.

Shortlisting – our Hiring Managers shortlist applications for interview.

Assessments – you may be asked to attend an interview and complete or deliver a task. Information will be generated by you and by us. For example, you may complete a written test or we may take interview notes. This information will be held by our Human Resources department.

If you are unsuccessful following assessment for the position you have applied for, we may ask if you would like your details to be retained in our talent pool for a period of one year. If you agree, we would proactively contact you should a suitable vacancy arise.

If we offer you a position which you accept, the information will be held in accordance with our data protection procedures for employee records.

iii. we do not sell personal data commercially, however we may share your information with other Companies trading under the Riley Consulting banner.

iv. generally, for any purpose for which you give us express or implied consent to use the information, or for any other purpose permitted under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Security

We use a number of technologies and operational procedures to protect data submitted to us. Security of data on our equipment is provided by a combination of firewalls, website authentication services and data encryption.

Disclosures

Unless required to do so by law, we will not pass your information to any third party other than a data processor acting on our instructions pursuant to GDPR. Please inform us on info@riley-consulting.co.uk if you do not want us to do this.
